We were privileged to host the awesome
Becky and her cousin 'Re' and work colleague 'Cinderella' this past weekend. This was the first time Brad got to spend quality time with Becky and her crew. Simply put---we had a blast!
Maker's Mark Mile at
Keeneland
I was able to get us a box for the day so we got to see the races, had easy access to food and betting and the Maker's Mark Bar where Becky was talking the pretty boys out of their shoes*grin* The ladies did not bet but cheered louder than anything for their favorites. Brad and I bet judiciously and won a nice little bit.
We hit the Maker's Mark 'Prohibition' tent party just long enough to see a 'genuine' flapper---seriously- she was on a walker but in full regalia complete with cigarette in a long holder---and to score our collectible glass.

We adjourned to Shamrock's, a wonderful Irish bar with Tim, the hardest working bartender in Lexington. Becky took this pic of us.

Brad and I went to bed around midnight but the ladies entertained themselves until well into the morning--something to do with capes, floor angels and Claussen pickles.
Needless to say we got a late start on Saturday. After our shopping trip to the Liquor Barn we ventured out to get tattoos, finding the LuckyLady Tattoo Parlor. Becky went first and was rewarded with all of us snapping shots.

I can verify that when I started getting mine I tried to maintain the look of calm like she had in the first photo. That didn't work because I almost passed out. After a break 'Re told me about breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth to help with the pain. I asked her if she learned that in 'pregnancy camp'. Yes, there was no blood in the brain at that point. With the help of my loving husband and the ever supportive girls I was able to see it through. There is a pic on FaceBook.
We decided to hang at Bliss Manor on Saturday night with a couple of luscious pies from Donato's and consuming some of the massive amounts of liquor we'd purchased earlier.
Becky in the Red Room

This was pretty late---the girls loved the Claussen pickles!

Now there's a smile

I think I got in bed by three. I got up early though to make sure they had a good send off. Brad helped me do some bacon wrapped Tater Tots. They are good for what ails ya.

It was a wonderful time. Having Becky and Re and Cinderella in the house was like having family you really really like. They are welcome anytime and the great thing is that Becky and maybe Cinderella will be here in June for ConFab, Baby!
You can see more pics
here. And be sure to send up some good thoughts/energy/prayers for Becky's beloved Reilly as he has a nasty eye infection.
It was an extra special weekend as well because Brad and I got married on Thursday April 9. We are very happy and thank everyone who wished us well.
Smooches and some lovey dovey gropes babies.
