Well tonight is the single debate for the Vice Presidential candidates. I don't expect we'll see the likes of this moment though.......
I think a lot of folks will tune in just to see if it is as much of a train wreck by Palin as the interviews with Katie Couric were last week. I doubt it will be as bad as they've had Palin in 'debate camp' in Arizona. Guess she's gathering more 'foreign policy experience' by looking at Mexico.
Meanwhile Joe Biden is all excited about the possibility that FDR might watch.
Yes, I did go there.
Politicians often make mistakes when faced with speaking too much in pressured situations.
I do however draw a distinction between grasping for some historical reference to make a dramatic point, as Biden did with misspeaking that FDR addressed the nation on TV when the stock market fell in 1929, and making nonsensical claims trying to justify yourself on the ticket--Palin saying she has foreign policy experience because Alaska is next to Russia. If you haven't seen the video here is a link and

If you haven't seen the video here is a link and
here's the transcript ...
COURIC: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?
PALIN: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land-- boundary that we have with-- Canada. It-- it's funny that a comment like that was-- kind of made to-- cari-- I don't know, you know? Reporters--
COURIC: Mock?
PALIN: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah.
COURIC: Explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.
PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia--
COURIC: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?
PALIN: We have trade missions back and forth. We-- we do-- it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where-- where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is-- from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to-- to our state.
So it's no wonder that John McCain said this yesterday on NPR....
NPR: Given what you’ve said Senator, is there an occasion where you could imagine turning to Governor Palin for advice in a foreign policy crisis.
MCCAIN: I’ve turned to her advice many times in the past, I can’t imagine turning to Senator Obama or Senator Biden because they’ve been wrong. They were wrong about Iraq, wrong about Russia –
NPR: But would you turn to Governor Palin?
MCCAIN: I certainly wouldn’t turn to them, and I’ve already turned to Governor Palin particularly on energy issues and I’ve appreciated her background and knowledge on that and many other issues.
*sigh*
I applauded columnist Kathleen Parker last week for her column recognizing Palin's glaring inadequacy and asking her to step down. It seems this has made Parker, a respected conservative columnist, a target of death threats and viscious hate mail from her very own people. This is from her column yesterday....
"""Such extreme partisanship has a crippling effect on government, which may be desirable at times, but not now. More important in the long term is the less tangible effect of stifling free speech. My mail paints an ugly picture and a bleak future if we do not soon correct ourselves.
The picture is this: Anyone who dares express an opinion that runs counter to the party line will be silenced. That doesn't sound American to me, but Stalin would approve.
Readers have every right to reject my opinion. But when we decide that a person is a traitor and should die for having an opinion different from one's own, we cross into territory that puts all freedoms at risk. (I hear you, Dixie Chicks.)
I'm sure it is coincidence that, upon the Palin column's publication, a conservative organization canceled a speech I was scheduled to deliver in a few days. If I were as paranoid as the conspiracy theorists are, I might wonder whether I was being punished for speaking incorrectly.
Unfortunately, that's the way one begins to think when party loyalty is given a higher value than loyalty to bedrock principles.""""

I will be tuned in--how about you?

I am still waiting for the announcement that some emergency has popped up and the debate must be canceled.
McCain lost 10 POINTS with undecided women voters in the last week...
And I have to believe the transcript MUST be wrong...no one can be that inadequately prepared and such an awful speaker and still be running for the second highest office in this country...can they? Can they???
Y'know. She's only been a Governor for 18 months. That aside, what the hell is the Alaskan economy based upon?
Oil, Tourism, and fish. What the hell does she bring to this country that moves us forward? Nothing.
This pick was nothing more than a gimmick. I am not going to say that she is stupid, but much like Dubya, she has put ambition above intellectual curiosity, and her "gee shucks" brand of politics above being someone of any substance.
I loathe her, and I loathe McCain even more than I did for putting his chances to win the White House above the interest of our country.
Such bad behavior for a "war hero". Cheers TB!!
As long as nobody expects balance then they will be viewing it in the right light!!
She'll do fine.
Its often tough for common people, you know people who have had jobs outside of politics, like Palin to come across with pity answers the way the old gaurd, those people who have always been politicians Biden, Obama, McCain (though McCain has had a real job) to do so.
Thats why I like her. Shes like you and me (not politically but in her life story).
She is the only one possible to be true change. She HAS to know what common people face, outside of politics.
Some people like lifers, Obama McCain and Biden, I though want someone like me. Someone who has struggled in their life. Damn shes done that as well as been in an executive position.
Experience lifetime politicians in the Senate don't have.
But if we need someone to make sure the softball schedules are accurate we know where to find an organizer.
The simple gaffs are silly to note, even the FDR one.
The true train wreck is when one looks at the supporters of the candidates and those they put in places of prominence, Rev. Wrong?? Bill Aires????
yes ma'am
TRAIN WRECK!!
toot toot
Oh I will be there - I can't wait! I know Palin's had some trainin', but I still think she'll say something dumb. Anyway, I'm extremely interested!
I will also be "there". I forgot it was Thursday! I had the Wednesday from hell, though.
we're turning it into another drinking game... sips when someone says "change", "economy", "surge", "Russia". And big gulps for every time Mr. Biden blows his time limit, and every time Ms. Palin says something unintelligible...
we'll be bombed before the end of the second question!
Ha. People who have had jobs outside of politics? Palin was a freakin' sports caster for a TV station. She is a dullard.
I get sick of hearing how her life story is engaging and whatever....
She has a kid with Down's Syndrmome, so do many others and nobody says that their life is extraordinary.
And those are people who don't have staffs of people helping them.
Least of all, Rep. Joe Barton from Tex-Ass who killed an Autism research prior to the Dems taking control of the House.
Screw her!! Cheers!!
Turnbaby: And to increase her foreign experience, they ordered in some Chinese food...
Yep. Staying out of the fray on this one. Opinions are like ass-holes... never mind. I'll watch and keep my thoughts to myself.
I can't wait. I'll be tuned in.
I'll even drink some Red Bull so I don't get bored to tears!!
Sage: I like you... but I have to say:
I'm not particularly enchanted when someone says Palin is "like" me... um, no.
As a woman she insults me.
I'm insulted when they use the fact that she's a woman to cry foul if she's being cross-examined. She's out of her league, and not because she's a woman.
I too work in a "boys club" area and I guarantee you, when I go to bat... I'm prepared and informed. She's stuffed her resume and it's catching up to her.
She has the same foreign experience as Bill Clinton, as well as the same financial knowledge, that is not debatable, but bill did have Gore!!
She has more executive experience than anyone running. She has as much foreign policy experience as Obama. She is a threat to some women though.
She is more like me I didn't mean to offend. She did not come from a silver spoon background and she is now successful, I realize everyone didn't come from the same position and some aren't currently personally responsible. I wish I had not been raised poor but I was. So no offense meant.
It seems odd to me that obama is for change and has never done anything in his entire life except be a politician, what kind of change is that.
Wait!!!!
thats unfair
lets check the record!! Lets list the companies he successfully ran
1.
ok ok that could be unfair, I mean not everyone has successfully run a business.
So, lets list all the bills he has sponsored that have passed!
1.
ok well that could be unfair!
I know surely, for the love of Darwin he has untied with the other party to do something for the greater good of the people!!
1.
Well now that is really unfair!!
Dang man well at least he wasn't the 3rd largest recipient of money from fred and fran, ooops yeah yeah he was.
It just seems tough for me to judge how he will rule, we have no idea, lets try to find out how he makes his decisions since is damn near never on the record!
Ok surely he seeks good council!
whew theres one even someone who votes "to damn stupid to vote yes or no, oops I meant "present" can get right.
Instead of going through all the current people he surrounds himself with lets go with two huge influences in his life!
The good Rev, if y'all can look past that you are more forgiving than me.
Or Bill Aires, atta boy Barack 2 qualified America haters!
good people BO.
Well surely I can find something!
Oh yeah at least his wife is proud of America right? Damn missed it again! Sorry.
I don't get how the osama supporters keep on about change. I kind of hope he wins because then we can finally be rid of the loser class once and for all. Those that are to sorry to work and not smart enough to make good decisions will have no excuses if he wins and I can quit hearing them piss and moan every single day. I am not a bush man nor am I a McCain man if there was even one qualified person other than McCain running I would vote for him.
What is far more pressing a matter right now though is some dumb asses are going to bail out what the socialists caused. One day people will learn.
It will work for me either way so it doesn't really matter who wins, the strong thrive and the weak fail, the way it should be.
Lastly when we compare Obama with all prior presidents only one stands out as a match is Carter.
JFK would vomit if he was here. Clinton knows he is the farthest left candidate with an actual chance (Dukkaks was as far left but he had no prayer) I can't imagine someone that much on the fringe really has a chance. I wish a moderate like Bill Clinton or Reagan was running.
I will make a prediction though. If she happens to slaughter Biden in the debate (by some freak happening) he will be dropped from the ticket IF Obama can get H. Clinton to take it.
Good Debate, I do wonder about those things I asked about, I mean what in his past makes you believe he can run the country?? Or what specific thing that he has done gives you faith?
Some people say change from Bush, now there is your Dullards. For sure.
LOL---this is FUN
you having fun TB??
heheheheheheheheh
I love it when I see u rise to the top of my list!!!!!!! When you update here!!
SAAAWWWWEEEETTTT
I watched it. I heard it said that not answering questions was a "good debate tactic".
Perhaps that is so. I was never a debater. I just wanted to hear the answers to the questions from both of them because I think it's important.
But I guess that's just me being naive again. Ooops.
Politics is about winning elections. Debates are part of the political process. At the end of the day, I'm still locked in and no one has said anything to change my mind.
She insulted me when she said she would answer the questions the way she wanted to and would instead talk to the American people. Guess what, I wanted the answers to the questions Governor, not the two pages of material your handlers made you memorize.
I did not like her little "gaff" calling the senator "OBiden" not once but twice.
It did not charm me when she winked at the camera and used her folksy speak. I want the leaders of my country to be leaders NOT my best buddy.
She is not 'joe six-pack'...she does not know me...
She did better than most expected but when the bar is at -20 and you rise to +2 it does not mean you won the debate.
Senator Biden answered all the questions. Governor Palin did not.
I agree with Bond mostly on the debate.
I thought it was a draw. I did look up some of the points though and Biden was wrong undisputedly about 3 times as often, he outright lied several times.
I have had a belly full of the same ole same and truly want new leadership. She kicked ass on both sides in alaska so I'm willing to give her a shot over socialism!
Biden and Obama insulted the hell out of me in ways they can't replace. In my opinion even speaking kindly to or of the rev was the death nail, I'm above assosiating with the scum of the earth, evidently Osama wil take any vote he can get. I dont want someone who cant choose a preacher that doesnt have disdain for his own country picking staff in the white house and surely wont get my vote to run it.
Biden made me throw up in my mouth when that idiot said be patriotic and pay more taxes, but then he has never EVER had a real job, run a company, or done anything of note, very much like Obama, nope exactly like OBAMA.
Life time politicians
more of the same
more of the shit.
If you want change vote for the lifers! That is insulting really.
Those with the same experiences you've had!
The ones that have never risked their own money to do anything, those who have never had a real job.
I want someone who at least can fathom what I struggle with.
Taxes
Illegals
corruption
associations
but maybe the biggest no vote for me was when the terrorists came on tv ON TV people and said they hoped Obama won.
vote with them if you'd like.
Would you hire someone who's friends, good friends now, were convicted terrorists and haters to watch over your kids or elderly parents?
I wouldnt
mine mean more to me than that.
It is harsh out there. Got told off this week about a political post. And I use their exact words - left it on my blog: "Angry Negro, You are a moron and should be beaten senseless". Nice. And a few "Fuck off and die" and "Take Hussein Obama and fuck off back to Africa". Yeah, I see the maturity in the debate.
Sigh. Show us some leg to get us to feel better?
Oops. Sorry Brad - did I just say that out loud?
@southern sage - Sorry. I don't want someone like me to run the country. I want someone who is better than me. Look where W got us. He was voted in because people felt he was the kinda guy who they can have a beer with. And is Biden too good for you? Because he comes from an even darker blue collar background than any of the others. And you think being raised by a single mother and then your grandparents make you priveledged? Or the fact that Obama worked hard in those circumstances to get get support to go and study at Harvard? How is he NOT what you want everyone to strive for. No matter where you come from - you can make it. Sorry, Obama and Biden come from "worse" backgrounds than Palin. Oh shucks darnit, "wink & smile" and I betcha do not make you more like you than the others. Look beyond the empty darnit words.
And talk about stuffing up on words. The fundamentals of the economy is fine and then 3 hours later the same McCain said the economy is in trouble after the fall of the FMs? And no, he is either stupid or a flip-slopper - because NO economist references workers when they talk about the economics. Not even Republican economists. You pick another 8 years of the same policies? Go ahead, please do, just don't complain when you have to cough up another $700b and the deficit is even deeper. Then you better just, oh shucks darnit, shut the hell up and suck it up.
And no. She doesn't have the same experience. Maybe the same as Bush. Just like Bush, she took a town with NO debt to a debt of $22m. Population at the time? 7,000. And they are still pumping in over $100,000 per year because her pet project is running at a loss - she said it wouldn't. And the town have to pay more for the land because she didn't have the legal paperwork to actually start building. So they lost more money to the actual owner.
She has NO foreign relations experience. Landing in Ireland on the way to the US is not a foreign trip. Oh, sorry - didn't know you liked Bill Clinton.
And no, Obama had a career before he became a politician. Or do you, like Palin, not believe that community workers working in the least privileged areas in Chigaco are dong something good. And (knowing now where he comes from - blue collar) being a Harvard Prof doesn't make him elitist - but he was one. In Constitutional Law.
What was she? A sports announcer while he was doing work as a community organiser. So, do you like sport more than the poor? Is she more like you then?
And you say you don't know how he will rule? Well, I guess you know how McBush, I mean McCain will. I go to his website almost every day and can't find his policy differences with Bush at all! Do yourself a favour. Go to both websites and read their policies. Then decide which one you want. Don't drink the Kool-Aid they are selling you.
Lastly, you talk about association - Obama and the Rev that he publicly spoke out against more than once and more deafening each time. Do you love President Bush and the senseless war he got you involved in? If not - then why isn't McCain speaking out against him more strongly? Or against Hagee and gang who endorsed him. He only spoke out when people pushed him on some of the quotes of that gang. Like Katrina was God's way of punishing people.
Lastly, go read the NY times of today. Top left hand side article. And then go read the transcripts or listen to the audio of what happened in 2004 about the debt of the financial sector. Approved by the Republicans. Guess who spoke out... Obama.
Actually, here is the last thing. Go look at what Obama did in his first 100 days as a Senator. Go look at the new laws he proposed. Don't just believe McCain and Palin - go look it up yourself. Then say what you are saying.
Because if you still say he did nothing then you are a lier. You already lied here about him being a lifer - sorry that is a LIE.
Everyone lies. Hell, Palin couldn't even remember the name of the NATO Commander in Afghanistan - twice got it wrong! But Biden smiled because he knew she was wrong but didn't want ot embarras her.
And go see what Obama and McCain did after their own debate. Go see who had manner and who was rude.
Then come back and tell me why you are coting for McCain and Palin. Substance please. You got away with name-calling and empty policies in the last two elections. No more.
Turnbaby - sorry for the long comment, but SS (odd abbreviation...) said a lot for me to respond to and I still couldn;t cover everything. My wife is feeling ill and I now have to go and look after her.
Darnit I betcha "wink"... puh-leeze...
AA
Thats an odd abbreviation, do they have AA for spiked kool aid?
First, I don't like McCain, Bush Biden, Kennedy, Frank, Cheney, None of them. I have yet to really defend any of them. What I did was compare them.
When I saw the companies Obama ran, his track record just didn't look that good. When I looked at the bills he got passed, again not that good. It does seem to me that he hasn't done much. I know that organizing communities is tough work for a simpleton but to run the free world I like to see some actual experience.
Now that being said I would prefer someone other than McCain to do that, but out of shittier and shittiest I take shittier. I don't dislike or slam Clinton, but he did amp up this present crises we are in today, Thats not even debatable. When you allow people who don't deserve loans to get them then its a no brainer that it will fail. If the idiots we vote for would stay the hell out of the markets then you can be sure they will be fine.
Even though it is INSANE to do this bail out, I'm kinda glad that the DEMOCRATS did it, after all they are in control of the purse strings, it will curtail some of dumb assed give away programs Obama has proposed!
To simplify my position so everyone can understand, I'm not a hater, I don't hate O,B,M,or P. I do think I'd take experience over speech making everyday.
I don't think I mislead or skewed any facts. He is a lifer, tell me what he accomplished outside of politics. Well he did organize something, he walked in the footsteps of Saul Lansky, read about ole Saul, read what Saul wrote, if you don't vomit I'll be surprised.
I do think presidents get to much credit and blame.
No critical thinker blames bush for something Carter began. If social security failed today would you blame bush? If so then stop reading here, none of anything I say will make sense, I simply can't make it any more elementary. There is no reason to look at what Obama proposed, does it make a difference? He could have proposed Sage to get a billion dollars but if he isn't smart enough to get it passed he's pissin in the wind, ha! Thats actually how I feel about most of his tax and spend policies.
but see that wasn't the topic, but it is the problem. Simpltons dullards and wedgie yankers are what divide us. Just like the republicans did to Clinton. If they wouldn't constantly try to pin the blame instead of fix the problem they would get shit done.
McCain has done that.
several times, much to my dismay, as was clearly stated, I might add.
All i needed to hear about to know I would not vote for Osama was that he was for income redistribution. The basis of socialism.
If thats what y'all want then vote.
It would probably work out better for me actually. The more money the g'ment gives away the more of it I end up with.
Its just not the best thing for the country.
Its simple really.
Your defense of his orgy with the Rev is laughable, just from a thinker to you I wouldn't use that line again, makes Obama seem more foolish. How can anyone with moderate intelligence say that if he even knew a man any more than casually for 20 years he didn't know that that person was a hater, racist, and general shit stirrer? Then to continue a relationship with person?? Excellent decision making ability is evident here.
Note I said thinker and not drinker, its easy to see where the kool aid runs freely.
I knew where you stood from the jump though, you spelled it out perfectly in your first and second sentences of your second post.
I don't want someone like me to run the country. I want someone who is better than me.
That dear readers is the difference in my fundamental beliefs. I am an American, it is my belief that NOBODY is better than me! Anywhere. EVER. See I know that if the government doesn't punitively tax me or over regulate my ability to earn that I will, due to my own hard work, good choices, effort and risk always be able to succeed. I DO want someone like me to run the country. I want someone to run the country like I run my companies. Like I run my family. Like I run everything I am in charge of. If obama had my experience (as small as it might be), and my track record, I would be much more inclined to vote for him. The only way I will EVER fail is if the government chooses to shut me down with taxation and bullshit like Nancy P and Harry R just delivered on a silver platter, thanks folks for bailing out B. Frank and C Dodd, but never fret the 3rd highest earner from contributions from fran and fred was......... any guesses???
OBAMA!!!!
As well as bailing out Mr. Raines, yup check the relationships.
Of course they bailed out their boys! Who would want that tit to dry up.
on a side note.
I would never personally attack you for any reason, I believe TB and the other readers here (in the past few posts where I have stood alone)would probably attest to me not attacking anyone, and it is shitty if someone did that on your blog.
There is no need to attack to point out lack of track record and experience as well as poor decision making skills when debating Obama.
Your comment was widely scattered I tried to catch most of it.
The difference is clear and simple.
Obama believes that people should give their money to the government to spend as they see fit (and Biden thinks its patriotic)
McCain thinks you should leave as much money in the market with the people who earned it.
It really is that simple to me.
Tell me folks, this is an easy one.
Would you like Bush, Carter, McCain, or Obama to spend your hard earned?
I realize that AA thinks some folks are better than him, but I am assuming the bulk of people dont , but the question is this....
are you smart enough to spend your own money?
If you are to simple, or not equipped with the mental skills needed to make good choices then its an easy choice.
Some people want GW to run health care!!!! haaaaaaaaaaaaa How stupid are those folks??? Let the government run it????? haaaaaaa
Ok I'm out for now!!
Oh to the administrator:
I enjoy this nearly as much as stripper sex!!!!!!
@SS - I don't get it? First you said Obama is a lifer in politics and now you say you don't like the companies he ran? Hum, which one is it? And he didn't run any companies.
On Fanny and Mac - Did you go listen to the transcripts of the meeting in 04? Can you still believe it is the fault of the Democrats? It wasn't their plan that failed. It was the fact that the Republicans agreed to give the banks an increase on the loans/debt they can go in - increased it by 33% (go check the transcripts of the meeting). So that was where the problem started. Your argument that it's the Dems fault is like saying that it's Ford's fault if you put a new engine in by youself and change the whole setup. Nope - you did it and not Ford. It was running well until then.
And, guess what, the first thing Obama said when he became a Senator (yes, the first thing) was that this is unsustainable. McCain said - "There is no problem". Go back and have a look.
Please show me actual factually links on Obama and FMs. But please do answer the question on why you don't go after McCain who is surrounded by lobbyist and advisers that worked for FM's and made millions off them. Why not a peep about that? Rick Davies McCain Campaign Manager... Phil Gramm... Out of the 177 lobbyist that McCain employs for this campaign, 83 have links to the financial industry. You want more names? Just let me know.
And you think McCain is good on the economy after what he has said in the last few weeks? If so, I hope you are running a business that does not depend on actual economics. (Oh, by the way - I have also owned and ran numerous business here in the US and overseas. All highly profitable and sold at a huge profit. That's the reason why I can blog when I want.)
On taxes. Did you go to their sites and have a look at their tax proposals? Or even go to independent tax organisations who evaluated the different proposals? Please do. You'll see that everyone will pay MORE under McCain because of him taxing the healthcare contributions of employers. Oh, not everyone, actually those who earn more than $250,000 will pay more under Obama.
So tell me again now why you pick McCain over Obama? You make statements, but offer no substance to support it. I gave you places where you can find the info and actual figures.
I can't even vote in this election, but hell, I try to find the actual info and not what the newspapers, blogs or campaign speakers are trying to sell me. Don't take the snake oil. Go find the actual truth. The simpleton would be the person who buys into empty rhetoric and believing what they hear. An informed voter would be someone who go and find the actual facts. It's not that difficult.
But you are right on one thing. Maybe my wording "better than me" was the wrong thing. I should have said someone who are more qualified than me and who would look to the world as better than me - for example when talking to Putin or Brown. I would not have the stature and statesmanship that Obama showed when McCain was so rude and smug in their debate. I would tell him straight that he is smug and stupid. And a liar. In that way Obama is better than me.
You think a simpleton can do the community work? I have been a community worker and I can tell you it isn't a simpletons work to go into some of those communities to affect real change and then be able to negotiate with the powers to get what you want. Yes, community organizers needs to know how to deal with people on the ground and at the top.
And trust me - I see people as my equals. You are about as qualified as I am for this job.
But back to the main points of your argument. Please come back with actual facts to support your argument. If not? Then who is the simpleton?
I am a bit all over the place in my responses. But the problem is that you just throw out statements that are not substantiated and I try and respond with facts. But maybe this time you will respond with facts and not snake oil ads and empty rhetoric.
Oh, AA stand for Angry African and doesn't say much. I'm not really angry - it's just a nickname a friend gave me after a repsonse like this one. Nothing harmful meant by the name.
I forgot to add... Raines? Get a grip. You know that is a blatant lie. Not a shred of evidence on that one. Just because you repeat a lie doesn't make it more true. He has NEVER been an adviser to Obama. Get back to the lobbyist connections (the Group of 77 I mentioned).
And you mentioned Reagan earlier? A moderate? He was a murderer. I lived in those countries where he sponsored terrorists like Savimbi. No thank you.
Let's go back to your decision filters: (You identified them)
Taxes - You'll pay more under McCain unless you earn more than $250,000 - total taxes by the way.
Illegals - Both have the same position and voted the same.
corruption - Huh? Lobbyist...
associations - Huh? Hagee and lobbyist.
I haven't responded individually to comments because I am going to do a post about the discussion here. I am enjoying this very much!
Sigh~~ just sigh....
And SHE is the one chosen to represent the females in this land?? **cringe**
AA: Of course he didn't run any companies, he's never run anything, that was the point, thank you for making it for me for anyone who was slow to the game.
Carter started the lending process, clinton furthered it. I didn't say the dems caused I don't think, it started with carter, reagan and bush1 did nothing to stop it, clinton amped it up, bush 2 did nothing to stop it, and fanny and freddy gave a shitpot full of money to Barny frank Chris Dodd and Obama. Why would they give the most money to those cats do you think??? Hmm thats easy, buy votes, get favors, corrupt.
Where is the Bill Obama wrote? Did he vote "I'm a window licker and certainly aren't smart enough to have an opinion" ooops I meant present on it?? Where is the vote on his bill AA? Who voted against the Obama Bill?
Why do you continue to put me as a McCain guy, how many times do I need to say I DONT LIKE McCAIN??
Should I get a tattoo?
Shit man, read this if nothing else I DISLIKE THEM ALL!!
If Obama had ever run anything, done anything of substance or I thought he might could bring the country together he'd be my man (this is supposing he would NOT proclaim to raise taxes on working people).
But he has done NOTHING.
I don't recall saying McCain was good at the economy. I don't recall saying anything about McCain much at all except in comparison.
I wont pay more under McCain.
I can find sites that say Bush knew about 9-11
I can find sites that say Rosie will vote the same way as smart people and Charlie Sheen is a mental giant.
I wouldn't hit a dog in the ass with those web sites, man I gotta earn, Obama is coming and change
sweet change is all i'll have left!
The only one I know for sure is selling snake oil is Al Gore and Global kool aiders.
I get it that you don't like McCain any more than me. I couldn't give a damn what Putin thought of me or you or whoever he is talking to, nor any other countries people.
Yes AA I do think simpletons can do community work actually. I see them all the time. The whole state and local government is full of them.
The simpleton is the one that clings to his guns, or so says Obama. I guess thats me and turn!
I don't read the ads
I don't listen to the pundits
I need very little to decide, I don't have to have a flow chart.
I don't know where you get that I'm reading the ads or whatever, I do no research at all. I supported Clinton twice, I am as independent as they come, libertarian probably. I'm not going to bat for McCain.
It has been obvious from the jump that Obama was fringe left, his friends are fringe left. The ONLY thing I needed to know was the Reverend stuff and he was done with me. Game over. I love America, I can't vote for a hater. Folks I am much to invested in my life and my family and my country to let someone who chooses friends like that, TWENTY YEAR friends, get my vote. I'm far to smart for the wink and nod speeches disavowing that long term relationship. I can't vote for people who aren't proud of their country and who run with Revs and Terrorists.
I just can't
I like America to much.
So I guess I will be voting against Obama instead of for anyone.
You sure hollar lie a lot AA, believe what you want, I can find news reports stating damn near anything, so believe whatever you like.
I'll pay more under Obama
Illegals true ( i never said McCain would do anything about them)
Corruption- Both sides for sure
Assosiations- which one of them said Goddamn America? Name me one. Which one is a convicted terrorist?
Since you like to search for stuff find one that said Goddamn America and one that is a convicted terrorist that said he didn't do enough.
Just one of each will suffice.
Im not like those people, Osamas not like them either he is ONE OF THEM.
If he can show a twenty year track record of having best friends and mentors that love America and that don't sit around cursing her, then Americans should give him a second chance.
Matte-Man?
How about some specific's on why do you loathe Senator Palin, Mccain.
What great event has stirred your off tune brain.
I know Turnbaby , that last remark could be called "picking on your friends", But it's true, you have listened to the tape.
You say palin just brigs Oil , Fish, Tourism to the table , what does Obama bring ? Illinois is noted for a couple of things , low grade coal and Gangsters, and where does "O " come from? sure isn't any coal mine.
Speaking of "o"o, the other one finally got his just dues!!!!
Ralph
Matt-Man
What's the deal?
You go on and on with your drivil that you "loath" Mccain and Palin.
Let's hear the specific reasons!!! Or is that to much for you.
Ralph
@southern sage - But who has run a company? Not McCain. Not Obama. Not Biden. Not Palin. So what is your point?
You want a few Bills? Here you go. It's easy to find. Library of Congress. Like I said. Don't just look at sites that support your view. Go to the facts unfiltered. Just a few Bills in the last year by Obama...
S.1793 : A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide a tax credit for property owners who remove lead-based paint hazards.
Obama’s anti-lead bill (S. 1306) directed the Consumer Product Safety Commission to classify certain children’s products containing lead as banned hazardous substances. He had another bill prohibitting the interstate transport of children’s products containing lead. (S.2132)

On global nuclear proliferation S.1977 : A bill to provide for sustained United States leadership in a cooperative global effort to prevent nuclear terrorism, reduce global nuclear arsenals, stop the spread of nuclear weapons and related material and technology, and support the responsible and peaceful use of nuclear technology.
I'll stop there. But there are more. Including 9 Bills on education. Come on. Don't let me do your research. And you don't have to like the Bills. You just asked me whether he did anything.
On the lending. Let's get back to the transcripts and audio of 2004. Everything was fine until they increased the lending allowed by 30%. To quote one of those present at the meeting, "Let's cross our fingers because if this blows up we are in a major crisis". Again, you can't blame the car if you change the engine. The problem wasn't the lending. The problem was when the Republicans increased the lending allowed by more than 30%. That is/was what made the market too risky and made it implode. Please answer the question on the transcript of 2004 and not empty rhetorics.
Okay, so you don't like McCain either. But then you need to be balanced in your assesment. You haven't substantiated your claims on Obama. You throw out an argument and then I have to go look for facts for you.
I am not asking you to go to weird and unreliable sites - read them and then follow the "facts" line, but don't believe what they say. I don't. Don't go to NewsBuster. Don't go to Fox. Don't go to Daily Kos. Don't go to NY Times. Don't go to CNN. Don't believe anything they say as the "truth". See what they say and then follow their sources to the actual facts. Library of Congress, indepedent analysis of tax proposals, the transcripts and audio. It's easy to hide behind the "website" argument. But then, tell me - where do you get your info or do you suck it out of thin air?
You might not like what Putin or anyone else outside the country has to say. You obviously run a small business inside the US. Hope everything is "Made in the US". Hope you don't want to expand you business. Because this market is saturated. Growth is not driven by the US market anymore.
But more importantly, your "allies" in the fucked up warmongering must listen to Putin. Guess where Europe get their gas? While you stare at your navel in the US, the Russians and Chinese are eating your lunch. One example, although manufacturing is not the main driver of the US economy, it is still a major driver. China was expected to overtake the US in manufacturing by 2013. Guess what? Thanks to current economic policies, they will now overtake the US in... 2009. And the financial market shift to London and Europe has been steadily growing over the last 6 years. You don't care about the global politics and economy? Don't. They like the fact that you don't have your eye on the ball. Because they are taking you to the cleaners.
We can agree to not agree on the community workers and simpletons. I've seen them at the soup kitchens. I've seen them help out rape victims. I've seen them build houses in New Orleans. I respect them. I don't think they are simpletons. But I guess you don't.
Empty rhetorics. That is all you have. Not one OUNCE of actual reference to facts. Just spew anything you want do you? I give you references like the Library of Congress and you show me nothing. But you call me as the one who shows no facts? Double standards. Snake oil. And a liar. But like you say. You don't do research at all. You want to argue that you are uninformed? That you base your arguments and what? Nothing! Your own words. You just suck up a point from thin air and claim it to be true.
So, you say you will pay more taxes under Obama. How would you know if you do no research?
You say Obama hangs out with a convicted terrorist. How do you know if you do no research? Or will Palin never lie?
Come on. Don't be so pathetic. Give me something here. You have to back up what you say. Somehow. I am not going to believe you just because you said so. So tell me where to get the info and I will look at it. But you so me nothing. Either you are lying or telling the truth. Make me believe it is the last one. But I am not going to just take your word for it.
I give you facts. You give me name-calling and "rumors" you heard where? So, please answer the questions per paragraph and less opinion thrown out on nothing. Substance please.
I gave you Bills. I gave you transcripts. Not made up. Direct from reputable places. You? Huh? Nada. Nothing. Zero.
@southern sage - Forgot to add on the associations...
Firstly, substantiate your claims on the Obama "palling" around with terrorists.
Secondly, you know who said this?
"I believe that the Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans."
Sounds like something a terrorist would say. Don't you think? Actually, this is what McCain had to say about this guy. McCain said he was "very honored" to receive this endorsement and, when asked about some of Hagee's more twisted views, responded: "all I can tell you is that I am very proud to have Pastor John Hagee's support."
Oh, he did pull that one back once the heat was turned up...
Or how about someone saying American liberals and gays and feminists are to be blamed for 9/11? McCain liked him. And only after pressure stepped away. But still say they have "come to an understanding of one another".
Hagee and Falwell. Just as bad as Wright. But Obama went on national television to denounce Wright. McCain? Still proud of his associations...
See video here:
http://blip.tv/file/703427
and here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qNi7tPanUA
So, let's talk associations. Obama never had a friendship with a terrorist. He publicly denounced Wright - more than once. And McCain? Hagee and Falwell. Why don't you ask him to denounce them just as much.
You want me to get this on Palin as well? her association (lifelong!) with a nutjob church. And videos of her talking in this church and showing her true religious radical herself? Just ask. No one has asked her to denounce her church where all her kids where Christianed. Why not?
Do I smell double standards somewhere?
Let me know if you want more evidence. In their own words. On video.
I think Sarah Palin is hot.
(I think I left this comment on a previous post. Well, it's just as irrelevent now.)
